Hello everyone. Thanks for reading my first post. This is my first book review as a blogger. Today, I am going to review Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini.
Starcrossed is a novel about a sixteen year old girl named Helen Hamilton. Helen has really never fit in at her school in Nantucket. Little does she know that her life gets more complicated when she meets Lucas Delos and his family. Lucas seems to be the most gorgeous boy Helen has ever seen. There's a problem though: she hates him and he hates her. Little does Helen know that her ancestry and Lucas's ancestry played a huge role in a major conflict so long ago that causes major problems for them in the book.
Lucas reveals to Helen that she is descended out of four possible gods, Apollo (House of Thebes), Aphrodite (House of Atreus), Zeus (House of Rome), or Poseidon (House of Athens). Helen finds herself discovering new talents that make it hard to figure out which god she is descended from.
As the story goes along, Helen finds herself falling for Lucas and vice versa. However, they cannot be together because the two of them can start a war that will cause innocent people's lives to be at stake. The story tells the reader about Helen's ancestry and her struggle to be with Lucas without starting a major conflict.
Josephine Angelini delivers a debut novel of heartbreak, drama, suspense, action, and mythology. This book is definitely one I would recommend to another person.
